About the CCN Privacy Policy

This overview of our privacy policy provides you with a summary of how Crosslink Christin Network collects and handles your personal information.

Please note, CCN is not required to comply with the [1]Privacy Act 1988, however, protecting your personal information is important to us. Therefore, we have adopted principles as outlined under the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)

What personal information is collected

CCN may collect personal information about you when you interact with us. Generally, the types of personal information collected by CCN include:

  • your name
  • your contact details, including email address, postal address and telephone number.

Information you provide to us such your opinion on something, for example when making a general enquiry, complaint, or submission may also be your personal information.

What if I don’t want to share my personal information with you?

If you do not wish to provide CNN with your personal information, we may be limited in our ability to serve you.

Do you collect sensitive information?

No.

What if I want my personal information removed later?

Please contact us if you require your personal information to be move. We may be limited in our ability to do so due to our legal obligations to maintain financial records for a certain period of time.

Your personal information is collected through the order process, either by form fill on the online order form, or you have contacted us by phone or email to place an order we may request personal information that requires the fulfillment of your order.

No. We will not seek your personal information from a third party. If your order has not been processed, please call us to check if you gave us your correct information required to fulfill your order.

CCN will take reasonable steps to protect personal information held from misuse, interference and loss, as well as unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Personal information is subject to access restrictions. We have in place policies and information protection procedures, including (where appropriate):

  • physical secure file storage
  • password protection of electronic databases
  • the provision of secure rooms
  • the provision of information to staff on a ‘need to know’ basis.
  • CCN (including staff, Board and Leadership group and internal and external consultants) are subject to a number of general prohibitions on making an unauthorised disclosure of information.

How personal information is used and disclosed

CCN can only use or disclose personal information for the particular purpose for which it was collected, unless one of the following applies:

  • we obtain the individual’s consent to use personal information for a different purpose (that is, a secondary purpose)
  • the individual would reasonably expect us to use or disclose their personal information for a secondary purpose, and that purpose is related to the primary purpose of collecting (or, for sensitive information, directly related to the primary purpose)
  • CCN reasonably believes that the secondary use or disclosure is reasonably necessary for one or more related activities conducted by, or on behalf of, an enforcing body (for example, State Births, Deaths and Marriages departments)

CCN may also use personal information for the purpose of preparing statistics to enable it to better understand the Network — for example, identifying sales demographics.

We may display your name or another personal information publicly on our website, with your permission. This may include regional directories, or in news articles.

We may disclose your personal information to a third party such as:

  • external service providers who we engage to assist us with our functions, such as postal providers.

There may be circumstances where CCN is legally required to disclose information (and this may involve personal information). In most cases, we will endeavour to notify and consult any individuals whose personal information may be disclosed about the proposed release of the information.

Where information is disclosed to a third party we will, to the extent reasonably possible, ensure that the third party is subject to the requirements of the Privacy Act or otherwise take steps to ensure that the third party meets our obligations under the Privacy Act.

Disclosing personal information overseas

There are some circumstances where we may share your personal information overseas.

Examples of instances where we may share your personal information overseas
  • where we use a third party consultant or contractor to provide services to us, and that third party contractor is based overseas, for example ECWID ecommerce system.
  • where we store data in the cloud or on servers that are located outside Australia.

How you can access or correct your personal information

Accessing your personal information

You can request access to, and correction of personal information we hold about you.

To request access and/or correction of your personal information, please contact CCN office. When making your request, please provide sufficient information to enable us to identify records held by us that contain your personal information and to verify that the information contained in the records is your personal information.

Visiting our website

We do not collect any personal information purely from your visit to our website.

When visiting our sites, a record of your visit is logged per the parameters set by our website build platform, Squarespace. We do not collect personal information purely from your visit to our website. We do not subscribe to any other data collection agency such as Google Analytics.

The following clickstream data is recorded and may be used by us for statistical purposes:

  • Country location
  • Sources by visits (e.g. Google or other websites)
  • Other traffic sources (search or referral, social media, email)
  • the type of browser used
  • the type of device used (mobile, desktop or tablet)
  • operating system used (e.g Windows, Mac)
  • the date and time of your visit to the site
  • the pages accessed and the documents downloaded
  • Clickstream data is anonymised and no attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except in the unlikely event of a data breach, or an investigation where a law enforcement agency or other government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect our internet web server logs.

Our sites use cookies to better serve you when you return to the website. A cookie is a piece of data that a site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your computer as an anonymous tag that identifies your computer but not you.
